The Comic Art Alliance is an art club created by Jess Kirby and Michael Powell. Every week we have a different art prompt, and anyone can participate. Simply email us at comicartalliance@gmail.com, and we will add you as an author. Then you can start posting your art to the blog. Entries can be in any medium, full finished drawings or sketches. All we ask is that it be on topic. Well, what are you waiting for? Let's draw!

The 80s
This didn't turn out how I wanted it to at all, but it's all I have time for. My scanner even added a really odd rainbow to this. WEIRD.
The 70s
The 70s was all about Wonder Woman and Charlie's Angels, right? I tried to combine the two and added the super cheesy Magnum P.I. Helicopter in the background. You're lucky I didn't attempt to draw Superman in a leisure suit.

The 60s by Jess Kirby
This is what I imagine the 60s were like. Debutantes fighting off stinky hippies. Not really, but I thought it was kinda funny. Inger Stevens was the inspiration for the feisty deb and Luke Perry was the inspiration for the hippy. No, really. The episode of 90210 when Brenda found the diary and they all role played....I've said too much.

60s Hunter S Thompson
To me the 60s will always be Hunter S Thompson, The Beatles, Hippies, Vietnam, Golden Age of Rock and Peace Signs. But mostly Hunter S Thompson. The journalist taking it all on. And Nixon. Pure Gonzo Journalism, buying the ticket, taking the ride. Shit, why not man? Let us ride this strange torpedo all the way to the end.

Blonde on Blonde, by Jonathan MacFarlane
My cover of the cover to Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde." Drawn on my iPad, using Paper. It looked better before it went electric.

Couldn't think of anything for this topic and this guy seemed appropriate for today. May the 4th.....
